Director of Accounting

Position Summary

The Director of Accounting will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
  • Manage the financial reporting process for both internal and external stakeholders, including quarterly and annual reports, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments to accounting practices.

Financial Controls and Processes:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
  • Implement and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures, providing guidance and training to the accounting team.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Promote professional growth and development by identifying training needs and opportunities for skill enhancement.
